Santa on a Bob Trailer

Finished the window art for Cascade Bicycles about two weeks ago. It probably took me about 6 hours, but had a lot of fun working on it. The painting starts with Santa looking extra large being pulled in Bob Trailed, then a couple elf's riding rain deer like Mt bikes, and of course Rudolf in the front.

Commision piece

This is a project that I have been working on for the last while here. The Client wanted her and her siblings sitting around Jesus. After agreeing to do the job, I realized just how old and fuzzy the photo reference's are, and that made the job take a bit longer than expected. Part way through the sketch part of the picture I had to switch the baby's head with a younger one, which was nice since that photo reference was a lot less fuzzy. All in all I had fun while working on it and getting use to using my Wacom touch pad.

jus'anutter'Upat'er (Just another up date here) with my current work in progress. There is still a whole lot of tightening up to do, but whenever I place that little bit of bright white on an pupil I get the Dr. Frankenstein feel that causes me to wanna tap dance.

Here are the hands of portrait I am currently painting. I still have a bit more tightening up to do but I thought the values were coming along fine.

This one was done awhile ago on my old computer, of my wife Leanna. I thought I had lost the file when the computer croaked, but here it is. I do need to do some more with it but right now I've got quit the full plate.

Self Portrait W/ Piratestach

It's a little too serious but not at the same time with this facial hair but that's why it had to be done. That and a self portrait should be due at least once a year.

a little more of baby hammer

I painted this from a picture my mom took while she was in Africa visiting my aunt, and that was the child'sactual toy, a hammer.

it's been a wittle while

It's been a little since since my last post so here is the last piece that I finished before my previous computer passed away. I did this for me mum last mothers day that was a take on that famous photo of the momma giraffe kissing her new born in the zoo.

Cascade Bicycle poster

This is a current work in progress for my day job at the bike shop. My boss wanted a poster/banner to bring with him when he sets up at bike events. Once I got the design going he thought his face should be on the cyclist's, which works out great since he has a very animated face.

Window painting

This was for the bike shop's front windows last Christmas season.
My boss gave me free range for it, and now that it's come and gone
he keeps asking me what am I gonna paint for the shop next.

This is my first attempt of a a full color digital paint. I have done others with color, but those have been a full black and white with light color overlay on its surface.

many face's

Here is what I have spent the last couple of weeks working on (plus watching
videos on youtube about ibex's and goats). This was done for my wife's co-worker,
who has a whole buncha family and friends that she wanted drawn on one page. I
had about 26 days to do it, I wish I had more time but she was super happy with
the turn out and said that my art has brought her family closer.

Here is a a pen and ink sketch I did for my Grandpapa's Birthday, that was on the 1st of this month. It be a picture of my first nephew I have ever known and he has the biggest smile I have ever came up against and he is still undefeated.

Don't think twice it's alright

Did this last Monday for a co-worker who loves it when I
put Bob Dylan on the compact disc player. I really didn't spend
a whole lot of time on it but I thought color palette came out
lovely.

Here's a little something I did for a friend for her birthday the other day. I had only a couple hours B4 the bday dinner so i sketched this as quick as i could, and it taught me just how fun it is to just blast through a sketch without being too self conscious about all the tiny little imperfections on your canvas.

1st free lance job!

It's been a while since my last post and yup here's why. After creating the Service Pro
Rep I really haven't felt like looking at my computer and I went to some traditional
pen and ink drawings the last few weeks and might I say its very rejuvenating, so now
I'm ready to do some more digi port paints!

Here is my most current project since using the tools that I
have learned since taking Jason Seilers class. my family can
probably identify better than any who...maybe.

Final Assignment

Using my own body and Jim Henson's face and some other photo references
this is what I came up with for my final for Jason Seilers caricature class.

Hair and Skull study

This was for Jason Seilers online class
and the focus was hair and skulls, and
I applied some different techniques to my style
with the whole shading lighting, and really just taking
advantage with what photoshop has to offer.

I have been taking classes through my all time most inspiring Illustrator
Jason Seiler for the last month (such an amazing privilege). and here is my
4th assignment of a civilian named James. this is the first sketch that I turned
into a black and white photo shop painting through Professor Seilers
instructions.

This pretty wise fella is know as "Ninja" the from the Rap Band
Die Antwoord, from South Africa, their music and videos have
been a helper in smiles and giggles for me the last couple of weeks.
